Today’s technology produces tremendous amounts of structured and unstructured data, which, when utilized effectively and creatively, can make it possible for organizations to target and connect with audiences in ways that were never before possible. Competition has significantly increased over the years with many companies offering similar products and using comparable technologies to produce and promote their offerings. One way a business can succeed is through the effective use of data analytics.
The 43rd Annual Regents Business Symposium will explore the concepts of Big Data and privacy and how businesses can identify and analyze the data that is available to them and how it can inform strategic decision making. The Symposium will also examine the ethical considerations surrounding the topic of Big Data and how far is too far in terms of data collection. Panelists will explore cases of the overuse and misuse of data and what you can do to protect yourself as an individual.
