Mark Griffith, a jazz drummer with twenty successful years on the New York and New Jersey music scene, will join bassist Calvin Hill and saxophonist Bob Ackerman in a tribute to jazz great Joe Henderson to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County (HFHHC) and the West Hudson Arts and Theater Company (W.H.A.T). The tribute will be held at the W.H.A.T. theater, 131 Midland Avenue, Kearny, on Friday, March 8, 2013. The show will also feature local jazz saxophonist Jake Thibault, who will perform with Joel M. Condon, Kurt Moreton and Matt Olsson. The show will be emceed by local jazz aficionado Jack Silbert, a local jazz aficionado, will emcee the show. Doors will open at 7pm, with the first performance starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 and are available through W.H.A.T.’s website www.whatco.org, by phone: 201-467-8624, and at the door on the night of the show. Proceeds from ticket sales will be divided between HFHHC and W.H.A.T. Light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
